53Six is a creative sports marketing agency based in Dublin, working with some of the most exciting brands in the world of sports. We create campaigns that inspire and engage fans across multiple channels, with a focus on building lasting relationships between brands and their audiences. 

The Opportunity 

53Six is looking for an experienced Creative Director to join the team on a full-time basis. 

This is a senior role designed to provide creative leadership and support across live client work, new briefs and ongoing campaigns, while helping shape the agency’s creative output and standards over the long term 

The role would suit a senior creative who can step into a busy agency environment quickly, understand the work, support the team, and help maintain high creative standards across strategy, concept development, campaign messaging, design, video and social content. 

The core of the role is to help deliver brilliant, effective creative work for our clients - blending strong conceptual thinking, sharp copywriting and practical creative direction across digital, social, video, traditional and experiential formats. The role requires someone who can get under the skin of a brief, shape the strategic direction, and turn that thinking into compelling creative ideas, campaign messaging and client-facing work 

A genuine understanding of sport would be a real bonus. Much of the role will involve helping sports organisations and brands shape narratives, build campaigns and connect with fans across seasons, tournaments and key moments in the sporting calendar. 

In this role, you will be responsible for: 

Creative leadership 

Providing senior creative direction across key client work, helping shape ideas, campaign territories, messaging, content concepts and creative responses 

Cross-disciplinary creative support 

Bringing strong copywriting, campaign messaging and conceptual thinking, supported by an understanding of art direction, design, video and social content, to help deliver cohesive, integrated campaigns across multiple channels

Contract Creative Director 

Strategic creative thinking 

Helping interrogate briefs, identify the strongest strategic opportunity, and translate client objectives, audience insight and commercial goals into creative ideas that are clear, distinctive and effective 

Team support and direction 

Working closely with designers, content creators, producers and account teams to give clear direction, constructive feedback and creative confidence during a transition period 

Key responsibilities 

Creative leadership 

● Lead the development of campaign messaging, creative platforms, headlines, scripts, manifestos and presentation copy 

● Bring strong copywriting judgement to the work, ensuring ideas are expressed clearly, simply and with impact 

● Help shape the strategic narrative behind creative work, particularly for pitches, campaign territories and client presentations 

Team support 

● Work closely with the design, content, production and client services teams ● Brief and guide designers, animators, directors, editors, copywriters and other specialists where required 

● Provide clear feedback and direction during creative reviews 

● Support a collaborative and positive creative environment 

● Help the team prioritise work and make confident creative decisions 

Client and pitch support 

● Support the creative development of new client briefs 

● Work closely with client services and strategy teams to shape creative responses ● Present and articulate creative thinking to clients where required 

● Support the development of pitch materials, presentations, campaign ideas and video concepts ● Help ensure client-facing creative work is clear, compelling and well thought through 

Social, content and platform understanding 

● Bring strong knowledge of social-first creative and content formats 

● Understand different content types, especially video, and how to optimise them for social platforms 

● Help ensure creative ideas are fit for channel, audience and platform behaviour ● Stay close to relevant sports, culture, content and platform trends 

Skills and experience 

● Proven experience as a Creative Director, Associate Creative Director or senior creative lead ● Strong conceptual thinker with the ability to shape campaign ideas quickly

Contract Creative Director 

● Strong copywriting and conceptual experience, with a good understanding of art direction and visual creative development 

● Ability to turn strategy, audience insight and client objectives into strong creative platforms and campaign messaging 

● Strong writing skills across headlines, campaign copy, scripts, pitch narratives and presentation copy 

● Comfortable challenging and shaping briefs, not just responding to them 

● Experience in a social-led creative, marketing or advertising environment 

● Strong understanding of video, content and social platforms 

● Ability to work across multiple clients and fast-moving briefs 

● Comfortable giving clear direction to designers, content creators and production specialists ● Experience developing client presentations, pitch materials and creative concepts ● Ability to present and explain creative thinking clearly 

● Strong creative judgement and attention to detail 

● Calm, collaborative and pragmatic approach 

● Interest in sport, youth culture, pop culture and sports marketing trends 

● Proficiency in presentation tools such as Keynote, PowerPoint or Google Slides
